About the Author
John D. Anderson, Jr., was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, on October 1, 1937. He attended the University of Florida, graduating in 1959 with high honors and a Bachelor of Aeronautical Engineering Degree. From 1959 to 1962, he was a Lieutenant and Task Scientist at the Aerospace Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. From 1962 to 1966, he attended the Ohio State University under the National Science Foundation and NASA Fellowships, graduating with a PhD in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. In 1966, he joined the U.S. Naval Ordnance Laboratory as Chief of the Hypersonics Group. In 1973, he became Chairman of the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Maryland, and since 1980 has been Professor of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Maryland. In 1982, he was designated a Distinguished Scholar/Teacher by the University. During 1986–1987, while on sabbatical from the University, Dr. Anderson occupied the Charles Lindbergh Chair at the National Air and Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institution. He continued with the Air and Space Museum one day each week as their Special Assistant for Aerodynamics, doing research and writing on the History of Aerodynamics. In addition to his position as Professor of Aerospace Engineering, in 1993, he was made a full faculty member of the Committee for the History and Philosophy of Science and in 1996 an affiliate member of the History Department at the University of Maryland. In 1996, he became the Glenn L. Martin Distinguished Professor for Education in Aerospace Engineering. In 1999, he retired from the University of Maryland and was appointed Professor Emeritus. He is currently the Curator for Aerodynamics at the National Air and Space Museum, Smithsonian Institution.

Pictured is the normal version, received the international (Indian) with a sticker that says “new†when the book was obviously used. Not a huge issue becuase it appears that the problems are all the same but still annoying. At least say it somewhere in the description, or picture the correct item
Book is not listed as advertised. It's an Indian Edition with a "new" sticker put on it. Many creased places on the book. I guess it's a good buy if you are looking for a cheap version of this book. But really should say "INDIAN EDITION" somewhere in the description!
12/20/16 This is the international edition. Will return it if i can't use it at school. The seller should really put it in the description.1/06/17 Turns out the international version is the same as the north American hard cover version. After having both side by side they are the same book both using the same unit system and tables throughout the entire book. This version is cheaper and it offer the same as the hard cover north American version.
Purchased this item and got the INDIAN EDITION which is supposed to be cheaper than $25. I paid over $50 for this since the item description implied this is the American edition.Currently trying to return this. What a waste of time.....Will provide updates if I run into further issues.
Anderson textbooks have always been good in my experience, and this is no exception. Clearly laid out subject matter, lots of examples, and plenty of practice problems (though the practice problems are largely the "plug and play" type, and often don't really challenge your knowledge beyond ability to use formulas).
As stated by reviews before me, this book was not listed as an international Edition. I specifically chose this supplier based on it not being an international edition that way I would not have to hassle with the small variances that may be in place. You have no guarantee what you will get, so be cautious when purchasing.
Good intro. Cheap paper and too transparent (can see the other side and makes reading difficult) . You get what you paid for.
The theory in the book is well explained but the internation edition I received had parts of chapters missing and the print is terrible.
