This book is OK but there are better books about Triumph motorcycles including The Complete Book of Classic and Modern Triumph Motorcycles: 1937 - Today, by Ian Fallon. I had planned on waiting until the price of this book came down (hopefully) or good used copies were available but I finally went ahead and ordered it. It was only then that I read some reviews which were mostly good but the main complaint is that the chapters on each model read like advertising brochures. The reviewers who complained about that were correct, in my opinion. The book really does read like a bunch of adveristing literature that uses emotional text to entice potential buyers while not including much technical information. That is something about this book that is a bit irritating but even worse are some of the goofy pictures showing yuppie models in their designer clothes posing like they are in a clothes catalog. It's obvious that some of those models would be too afraid to even ride a bike. Besides, they would rather spend their time sipping their lattes at Starbucks than ride. And some of the poses of the bikes are downright silly. For example, on page 195, and obvious ad picture for the Scrambler 900 shows four Triumphs in piles of boulders with the aforementioned yuppies standing in the backround wondering how their bikes got in such places and how in the world someone could get them out short of lifting them with a crane. In fact, I don't know how a couple of the bikes are even standing up without rolling down the side of the mountain.A minor problem with the book is the fact that there are errors. A careful proof-reading would have taken care of that. As I write this, I haven't even read the entire book but scanning over it and reading some chapters, I noticed several errors. There's probably numerous other errors in the book if what I found so far are any indication. Just one example: On page 12, the author writes that the company was sold to Jack Sangster for $6,460. That sounds cheap although it would be possible. But But then on page 16, it says the company was sold to Sangster for $64,600. Which is correct? Who knows? Who cares? Some people might. I just find this type of error to be a minor irritation since it speaks to the care taken in writing and publishing a book. If that was the only error, no problem. But it isn't.After reading some reviews, I tried to cancel my order but it was too late to do so. But that's OK. I'll add this to my motorycle library. But one could pretty much put this book together by gathering a bunch of brochures from a Triumph dealer. I like books that go deeply into the technical aspects of the bikes, not just contain examples of creative marketing ads. In fact, that stuff insults my intelligence. One thing I did learn from this book is that the Triumph Rocket III Touring was discontinued in 2017. I have one of these incredible machines. I had suspected that it might have ben discontinued because some Triumph websites don't show it anymore (but others do.).If you're on the fence about whether or not to order this book, you may want to buy the book I mentioned above instead or wait for used copies to become available.

Excellent photography, especially of some of the pre-1950 bikes. I had not truly appreciated these earlier bikes (primarily from the 1930s and 1940s) until seeing the concourse restorations captured via modern photography in this book. They are every bit as beautiful as later bikes from the 1950s and 1960s. That said this book is approximately 3/4 devoted to the Hinckley era. Some of the early history of the bikes from the 1990s is interesting but beyond that point the book often reads like a sales brochure - hence downgraded to 4 stars for me.

I purchased the Kindle edition of this book largely for some background on the Hinckley Triumphs. There's not much in the way of new information even for the most casual Triumph fan. The text often reads like a company press release without any real depth or insight. Most of the pictures seem to be stock advertisement photos. I would have preferred to see more pictures of "real" bikes owned by actual buyers.

Great book came in today well boxed..The book was in great shape. got my email letting me know that it was in my post and waiting for me. Now I have to wait to get a fire going So I can get my old pair of jeans on and a good cup of coffee in my reading room just me and my book.

A nicer summary of Triumph including some iconic models. Although, not "the definative" story of Triumph, for that look for Roy Bacon. Well made and produced, would recommend for Triumph fans.

The book was okay but the outside cover scratched and teared when I first had it and little bit wrinkle, not really satisfied in buying this item, especially because I want to give this book as a present....

Fabulous, high quality book for anyone interested in Triumphs! Beautifully bound, quality paper & photos/illustrations. My husband loves it!

Excellent coffee table book.
